15 Iglesia de los Sacramentinos
Ricardo Larraín Bravo, architect.
Santa Isabel / Arturo Prat, Santiago.
One of the most striking catholic temples in Chile, the Sacramentinos Church was inspired for some details on the French basilica of the Sacré Cœur, like its strong verticality, the elongated shape ot its cuppolas, and the size of its crypt, that takes the same extension as the main nave. Three of its four facades were left in exposed reinforced concrete due to lack of financing, in contrast with the rich stucco work of its main facade, the only one finished. Today it stands at one end of the Almagro Park, an ideal setting for its magnanimity.
