1 Planetario Usach
Óscar Mac Clure, architect.
Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins 3349 , Estación Central.
The truncated cone of the building that houses the Planetarium of the Universidad de Santiago appears as a significant figure among the trees of the university campus, almost facing the Central Station. It was built in 1985 to house the projector donated by the Soviet Union to the Chilean government at the end of the sixties. The building follows very freely the brutalist aesthetics, with its exposed materials in the exterior walls, its supportive columns and the entrance mezzanine, everything organized in a functional way.
